Golf tournament to benefit Kirkland Boys & Girls Club next Friday | Sports briefs
The 17th annual Don James Golf Classic tournament will be held next Friday, Sept. 10 at the Golf Club at Newcastle to raise funds for the Kirkland Boys & Girls Club.

Hartley wins blitz Wednesday; Dean takes it Friday
Summer weather continued for the participants in the weekly blitz. Forty-nine players took part in the Wednesday blitz last week with Claude Hartley having a good round of 83 and plus 13 points to take individual honors.
